Existence: Vol. 37 at FUKUGAN, July 17th, 8PM

An Evening of Variable Duos.

I don't know the experimental turn-tablist Katsura Mouri, so I can't advise. But I can say that if you've never seen Tim Olive or Shin'ichi Isohata, you should. Tim plays electric bass in a way that is singularly unique, creating textures and sounds that range from that mechanical surgery you remember hearing from the haunted attic of your nightmares to delicate noise phrases that RadioHead would wet their beds to sample. He uses no processing effects, so you know the sounds you're getting are pure, straight dope with no pedal-pushing augmentation. You might even find yourself asking, "Where's this bass Jerry mentioned?"

And, Shin'ichi Isohata is simply one of the most versatile experimental guitarists out there. You'll not look at an acoustic guitar with the same eyes of quaintness you once did.

As well, I'll be adding my sounds to the various mixes, so if you can make it out, it will be great to see you.

FUKUGAN GALLERY is a very cool little art spot just down the street from the America Mura BANCO, four floors up a quirky stairway. Check their website, map and look for their big steel grasshopper out front.
